After the completion of the Arte S renovation, it straight away kick start the home stay business for Arte S. Due to the mush mushroom for the high rise in Penang, I do not wish to list to find long term tenant.If the luck is on my side,I could wait for 6 months just to secure a tenant for current market. Since Arte S is located at the strategic area, doing home stay could be a good option.
With the new concept of home stay, aka Airbnb in Malaysia and its boom has brought new income for property owners and investors to consider renting out their units on a short-term basis, instead of letting them stay idle.
This is an alternative way for home owners or invvestors to get income to enable themt to cover their monthly installments. I was told that the returns could be better than getting long-term tenants.
How profitable is the home stay business?
Started the homestay business from 15th Sept 2018 till 1st October. Below is the take up rate and revenue.
Booking No Of Night Sales
1 1 RM300
2 2 RM600
3 3 RM540
Total 6 RM1440
For first half month, the revenue is RM1440
Average is RM96 per day.
If projected for a one month, it could be RM2880.
