There are several type of building need to be avoid when buying into your investment property.
You can view it from feng shui point of view or health perspective.
Avoid the following locations:
- Religious building such as churches or temple
- High tension power cable (Pylons) and Telecommunication Transmission Tower
- Police station, fire station
- Power Sub station with Transformer inside
- Rubbish dumping area or incinerator
- Petrol station/Gas Station
- Sewage treatment pond
Religious building such as Churches or temples
I am not sure if you noticed or not, the properties nearby the religious building is not preferred.
If you have chance to see, just observed the housing estate near the religious building.
For example, below is the Hindu Temple and beside has an abandoned building, another one is abandoned house near to the mosque
High tension power cable (Pylons) and Telecommunication Transmission Tower
There are strong electro-magnetic fields generated from the high tension power cable. These posed greater health risk. Some may said that people are not at risk while inside a house, because the fields cannot penetrate building materials.
Police station, fire station
Many people dislike to stay near to the police station or fire station.
The location is not welcome by most people as normally people will not visit to these station very often. Look at below two photo taken, beside or surrounding , there are no residential building.
Power Sub station with Transformer inside
Normally we can find this power sub station in our neighbourhood.
It used to step up or step down the voltage to cater for the needs of the neighbourhood.
If someone stay near to the sub station for longer period, it will not be good for human health.
Rubbish dumping area or incinerator
This area can be dirty and full of germs. It will be unhealthy to live near to the rubbish dumping area.
The smell can be unbearable.
Petrol station / Gas station
Petrol station will be regards as highly dangerous placed due to its flammable liquid and gas. Below is one of the example that it is build by the roadside and the housing estate cannot boom at all. Not many people want to stay near to petrol station. Expected to have high traffic flow as well and causing traffic congestion. Refer to the 2 photo below, there are empty at the surrounding, no other building nearby.
Sewage treatment pond
There are some of sewage treatment pond build within the neighbourhood. Some of those in front of their house is directly facing the sewage treatment pond. The smell could be uncomfortable. Inhalation appears to be a major route for people staying nearby. Chemicals or organisms can enter the body through inhalation. It might be another place for the mosquitoes breeding placed if there is not proper measured taken.
